Xin Hui Aw Yong is a Singaporean who was previously based in the UK, having completed her undergraduate studies in Sports and Exercise Science and a Masters in Exercise Physiology. She worked as an Applied Exercise Physiologist and Researcher in Nutritional Immunology at Loughborough and Bangor University respectively; before returning to Singapore in January 2018. With prior experience in academia using knowledge rooted in scientific evidence, Xin Hui has always been interested in the epidemiology of various diseases. However, she was bothered by the lack of solutions or explanations to the health challenges that face many people in current society. Even from a young age, Xin Hui felt an inexplicable sense that health was more than simply taking oral medications or going for surgeries. She felt there had to be more but was not sure what it was until she accidentally discovered BodyTalk through her own pain and injury.
Xin Hui discovered the BodyTalk System™ in February 2018 when she had a chronic, stabbing hip pain that could not be resolved with various manual therapies. Initially skeptical, her hip pain disappeared after two BodyTalk sessions. During her sessions, Xin Hui was given explanations on how her belief systems about herself, expectations from others, physical scars, relationship with previous work, parents’ worry, the transition period she was going through, and emotions of fear, worry and sadness have affected her BodyMind complex. It manifested in the form of tension in the hip, causing limited hip mobility and pain. Once these issues were brought up and 'tapped out', not only did the pain disappear, but she also released suppressed emotions that made her feel trapped in her life circumstances. Xin Hui continues to receive regular BodyTalk sessions and have experienced significant improvements in health on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.
Intrigued by the scientific workings of this Consciousness-based Healthcare, it led Xin Hui to embark on a journey to become a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner. As the philosophy of The BodyTalk System resonated deeply with Xin Hui, she also decided to take all the advanced BodyTalk modules within a year, thus cementing her knowledge in The BodyTalk System. Her belief that learning is a lifelong journey also led her to partake in an 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program and basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine at a local college.
Xin Hui offers the 1-day BodyTalk Access health maintenance class to individuals and families who wish to seek health empowerment and kickstart the body’s natural healing process. Due to her previous background in Sports Science and Exercise Physiology, Xin Hui particularly enjoys working with athletes to help them with sport performance, injury management or rehabilitation. Additionally, having experienced hitting rock-bottom in life, Xin Hui has an interest in helping anyone struggling with life transition, stagnance in life, stress, anxiety, depression, headaches or chronic health issues.
With her extensive research experience in Sports, Exercise, Health Sciences and Immunology, Xin Hui is able to effectively combine her analytical skills in scientific research with her passion for body-mind psychology and Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy. She is also well-versed in Anatomy, Physiology and Nutrition. What makes Xin Hui stand out from other Certified BodyTalk Practitioners is her natural ability to observe and explain each BodyTalk session with ease, in a manner that is simple yet succinct, thus creating powerful shifts in the client. She is also a strong advocate for mental health and believes in a holistic approach towards living as well as navigating health challenges.
Xin Hui now aims to spread the awareness of BodyTalk and use it to help anyone in their journey to achieve better health, simply because she believes we all have the innate capacity to heal. Once we achieve this true state of health, we can live life to the fullest, and without regrets. During her free time, Xin Hui enjoys travelling, climbing, yoga, making pottery and cooking.
Through BodyTalk, Xin Hui hopes to advocate for the use of complementary and integrative medicine to support greater physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of each individual she crosses paths with. At the same time, through client-practitioner interactions, Xin Hui is seeking for the experience that can add value to her own life. Currently, her BodyTalk clinic is based in Singapore and she conducts BodyTalk sessions both in-person and online.
